MDF originated in the United States in the mid-1960s. Subsequently, in the late 1970s, Fujian Furen Wood Industry pioneered the introduction of a fully automated MDF production line from the US, sparking its rapid development in China. This rapid growth stems from the fact that MDF can be produced from small-diameter lumber, offering excellent physical, mechanical, decorative, and processing properties while significantly conserving wood resources (with wood utilization rates exceeding 50-60%). Consequently, MDF products quickly gained widespread market recognition and acceptance, driving the booming development of the entire wood-based panel industry. Currently, Guangxi ranks among the top provinces in China in terms of wood-based panel production.
