National Standard: According to the "Limits of Formaldehyde Emission from Artificial Boards and Their Products for Indoor Decorative and Renovation Materials" (GB 18580-2017), artificial boards are classified into E0, E1, and E2 grades:
• E0: Formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.5 mg/L, suitable for indoor applications with high environmental standards.
• E1: Formaldehyde emission ≤ 1.5 mg/L, suitable for general indoor use.
• E2: Formaldehyde emission ≤ 5.0 mg/L, recommended for outdoor use or in well-ventilated environments.
International Standards, such as the European EN 13986 standard and the Japanese F☆☆☆☆ standard, have similar grading criteria for formaldehyde emissions.
E0 and F☆☆☆☆ plywood have extremely low formaldehyde emissions, making them suitable for home decoration and children's furniture. Low-quality E2-grade plywood has a higher formaldehyde content, which may have a greater impact on indoor air quality.
